Carrera Panamericana 2010: Day 4 - Queretaro to Morelia

Today the cars will go from Queretaro to Morelia. But not without a cost for some of the teams after the hard stages in Hidalgo from yesterday.

It was rumored that one of the cars that suffered an accident was an LT,  supposedly going  off a cliff. But the car was later seen rolling and today raced normally. The Gregory´s Studebaker also took off the road, and even though there was fear that the car might have damaged beyond repair, they were at the starting line with the car fixed and ready after a long session of repairs that ended at 330 in the morning.

One of the surprises and a thing that makes me sad is that Bill Beilharz and Jorge Ceballos had decided no to continue chasing what was lost from the first day. After yesterday service and with lots of problems with the engine and a clutch about to fail after receiving a lot of extra work with a damaged transmission. Bill will continue tomorrow after getting the car fixed and joiining the caravan later in the day.

Another one that is doing an effort to keep in the race is Jake Shuttleworth, he is trying to get an A frame for the front suspension of his Ford Fairlane. He got it all bent and broke after the car was a victim too of the new HIdalgo stages. We connected him via Reno Casasola to helphim find a replacement here in Queretaro. With two restoration shops in the way to help him to get the part and have the car fixed, hopefully he will continue tomorrow.
